Account activation is a two-step process. The first step is completed by the Office of Research, and the second step is completed by Sponsored Projects Accounting (SPA).
Once an award is finalized in MyFunding, it is placed in an “Active” state by the Specialist in the Office of Research (OR) and released to Sponsored Projects Accounting (SPA), so that an account number can be assigned to the award.
When SPA assigns the account number to the award, the below notification is generated by MyFunding to provide the account number assigned by SPA.
