The PERIS™ Team has seen an increase in NIH errors due to duplicate titles in SF424 applications.
This error occurs when the Descriptive Title on the SF424 is identical to another application already in the Commons (see Figure 1).
If you are receiving the error:
- Ensure that an application with the same title has not been previously submitted to the Commons for the same Principal Investigator.
- If an application has been previously submitted, slightly change the ‘Descriptive Title of Applicant’s Project’ on the SF424 R&R Cover Page (see Figure 2).
